Strategies for my own classroom
Introductory letter to parents
Dear Mr and Mrs ......
I am pleased that I will be teaching your child this year and want to do everything I can to make it a successful year for him/her.
I have learned that I am a better teacher when I understand my students' particular strengths and needs as individual learners.
I want to know what you value for your son/daughter this year so that I can support him/her in developing those areas.
I hope you will help me understand what some of your child's strengths and needs are as the year continues. My intent in class
is to use what I can learn to help your child grow as much and as fast as possible to achieve, and, in some cases, exceed the
goals that are established for our class.
Yours sincerely
Mrs. Rebecca Wilmot
